The library / Track
The Basics track.
The Basics track is the first fold of the notebook. It covers the handful of ideas that the rest of the site assumes: amino acids join through peptide bonds, the result is called a peptide while it stays short, and compound names carry codes for their structure. Nothing here needs a chemistry degree, and every term used is in the glossary.
Start with where the line between peptide and protein actually sits, then learn to read a peptide name without panic. The First fold path puts these notes in order with three more, so each page leans on the one before it.

The Basics
Peptide or Protein? Where the Line Actually Sits
Both are chains of amino acids. The difference is a matter of length, shape and convention, and the boundary is blurrier than most explainers admit.
