The library / Track

Lab Frontier track.

Lab Frontier covers two kinds of note. The first explains chemistry: how peptides are built on a resin one residue at a time, and how rings, staples and fatty tails protect them from enzymes. The second checks research compounds that circulate online with far more confidence than their data support, most of them tested only in cells or rodents.

For the chemistry, read solid-phase synthesis explained and how chemists armor a peptide. For the research names, how fast SLU-PP-332 works in mouse studies and ARA 290 across its clinical trials show the difference between a mouse result and a human trial.

01 Lab Frontier Rings, Staples and Fat Tails: How Chemists Armor a Peptide Natural peptides are fragile. A short tour of the tricks that make them last: cyclization, stapling, mirror-image amino acids and fatty-acid tags. Cover illustration for Rings, Staples and Fat Tails: How Chemists Armor a Peptide 2 min read 02 Lab Frontier Making a Peptide: Solid-Phase Synthesis Explained Chemists build peptides on tiny resin beads, one amino acid at a time, in the opposite direction from nature. Here is the cycle step by step. No study has combined it with GLP-1 drugs, so these notes compare the two mechanisms instead. Published figures belong to cell culture, cosmetic formulas, animal models and delivery materials. Rodent studies look promising, one failed, and no human dose or trial exists. Its onset and effects in humans are untested.
